Announcement

If you had to pick one shitty action movie that really summed the 80s in one film, you could hardly do better than 1985's COMMANDO - it has everything! It has Arnold Schwarzenegger murdering like 100 bad guys, a villain who looks like Freddy Mercury on steroids, machine guns, missile launchers, just the dumbest dialogue from Jeph Loeb (who also wrote Teen Wolf before embarking on a very successful career as a comic book writer and racist tv producer-- long story there). Oh! and it’s the 80s, so it also has Alyssa Milano, Bill Duke, Bill Paxton and Rae Dawn Chong. It was also one of my favorite movies from when I was a kid-- and, uh…it hasn’t aged too well. It’s available for rent on Amazon, etc. See ya at 6:30 for a lot of explosions!

Description

John Matrix, the former leader of a special commando strike force that always got the toughest jobs done, is forced back into action when his young daughter is kidnapped. To find her, Matrix has to fight his way through an array of punks, killers, one of his former commandos, and a fully equipped private army. With the help of a feisty stewardess and an old friend, Matrix has only a few hours to overcome his greatest challenge: finding his daughter before she's killed.
