Remember Cannon Film’s massive hit Masters of the Universe? No? Well, remember Cannon Films’ massive flop, Masters of the Universe? Golan and Globus were so sure it was going to be a hit that they invested a bunch of money building sets and making costumes for MotA 2 when it turned out that no, maybe it wasn’t going to be a hit after all. Rather than take the hit Cannon Films (as was their specialty) and director Albert Pyun pivoted and wrote a new script in three weeks (under the name Kitty Chalmers) that would use all of those sets and props (including some that were intended for a Spider-Man movie). It would star Chuck Norris and would be a hit. Well, one of those things was true, but it wasn’t Chuck Norris. Instead, fresh off his first starring role in Bloodsport, we got Jean Claude Van Damme. So tonight, we tread new ground and bring JCVD into the Bad Movie Theater cinematic universe with 1989's CYBORG! It’s streaming for free on Prime! See you at 6:30!
