Feeders 2: Slay Bells (1998)
Announcement
There have been a number of teams of siblings who have entered the hallowed halls of cinematic history. You have the Coen brothers, of course. You have the Wachowski sisters. You've got the Russo brothers, the Maysles, even Sid and Marty Kroft. Please allow me to introduce you to another pair of moviemaking brothers: The Polonia twins, Mark and John (born in 1968), who together wrote, directed and produced over 40 movies. They're inspiring, really-- they never let a lack of money or actual filmmaking equipment or talent stop them. These guys have/had moxie and enthusiasm (John passed away in 2008) and access to a video camera; they are the creators of such movies as Splatter Beach, One Million Babes BC and of course their alien invasion movie franchise, Feeders. While the first Feeders was a straight Aliens Invade Earth and Eat People kind of movie, they decided to mix it up with the sequel, which is our final Christmas movie of the season...1998's FEEDERS 2: SLAY BELLS. The first Feeders had a budget of $500 and this one doesn't appear to depart from that level of funding, so get ready for some amazing FX! It was shot on VHS, so the video quality isn't incredible but it looks good enough on our tv, so I say let's go for it. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and/or Happy Winter Solstice! See ya at 6:30!
