Let’s talk about Andy Sidaris. He was the first director of ABC’s Wide World of Sports (and won an Emmy for his work). His enduring contribution to the world of televised sports was, as Wikipedia puts it, “Sidaris pioneered what came to be known as the “honey shot”, close-ups of cheerleaders and pretty girls in the stands at sporting events.” He directed some TV, but it is his move into film which concerns us. I can just see what he was thinking: What if I took the honey shot, but expanded it into a whole movie? But like, with explosions, and remote controlled vehicles? And Playboy Playmates? Get ready for a LOT of 80s boobs and terrible action scenes, folks. We’re going to be watching the legendary 1987 film Hard Ticket to Hawaii tonight, and it will be a singular experience. Description
A Molokai-based civilian pilot and an undercover DEA agent intercept a delivery of diamonds intended for druglord Seth Romero. Seth, his henchmen, and other island undesirables launch a full-scale assault on the duo. If they're going to survive, they'll need the help of agent Rowdy Abilene and his partner/kickboxing expert Jade.
