Tonight we will test our might by finishing our informal trilogy of dudes punching dudes video games with a film that has a 4% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a sequel that is described as “manages to underachieve the low bar set by its predecessor.” One that the creators of its source material describe as their personal worst moments in the history of their work on the franchise. I sincerely hope that the banging theme song from the original (which I recently found out was made by Lords of Acid!) is in this one, because I don’t know what else to hope for-- tonight we watch 1997's MORTAL KOMBAT: ANNIHILATION and may Raiden have mercy on our souls. It is streaming on HBO Max and is available to rent on Amazon, etc. See you at 6:30!
Description
A group of heroic warriors has only six days to save the planet in "Mortal Kombat Annihilation." To succeed they must survive the most spectacular series of challenges any human, or god, has ever encountered as they battle an evil warlord bent on taking control of Earth.
