Tonight we begin a new phase in Bad Movie Theater: No more struggles to coordinate, everyone having the movie synced, and latecomers not having to do time checks. In honor of this we will be watching a movie I’ve been holding on to for two years, waiting for just the right moment to spring it on you: Neil Breen’s fourth movie PASS THRU, from 2016. If you haven’t had the privilege of seeing a Neil Breen movie this is going to be a treat. Tommy Wiseau is okay, but he was a one hit wonder; Neil Breen is the GOAT of bad filmmaking. He does nearly everything himself. On Pass Thru he was the writer, director, producer, editor, musical director, director of photography. He was also production designer and manager, casting, set design, wardrobe, props, lighting designs, special make up effects, locations, administration and accounting, craft services, make up and hair and sound editor. Oh, and he self funds his movies. In an alternate universe he’d be Orson Welles. In this one he is Ed Wood, not giving a shit about what others think, just moving forward making more movies his way, about his obsessions (his sixth film comes out next month, I believe). What’s Pass Thru about? I’m not even reading about it. Breen is sure to play a messianic being with superpowers (I think he’s some sort of AI in this) who will crush capitalism and corruption, and will probably spend time wandering around in the desert. It will be incredible. I do hope you will join us.

Description
