We will kick off our first edition of BMT/GMT (thanks to @Hannah (she/her) for coming up with that name) with the movie we were originally going to watch on Sunday, a masterpiece of cynical holiday exploitation: 1987's SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT PART 2. Wait, you haven't seen part one? No worries, according to Wikipedia "the filmmakers say that they were paid a dismal amount of money to make the film. Originally, they say, they were told to re-edit the first film and pass it off as either a sequel or a re-release. Director Lee Harry said that he demanded that a new film be shot, though he did not have the budget to create an entirely new story." What they ended up with is a new film wrapped around a lot of flashbacks to the first film, so it's more like Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 1.5. There's a pretty famous meme from this movie, that I can't wait to watch in context, some come join me for some madness and some Christmas cheer. And, of course, Garbage Day! Description
