Is there a writer who has higher highs and lower lows that Stephen King? I mean, movies as celebrated as Stand By Me, The Shining, The Shawshank Redemption, Misery...I could go on and on. But then you have Maximum Overdrive, The Running Man and the Lawnmower Man. I actually looked up lists of the worst adaptations of King's work, and was shocked to find lists with dozens of entries of films I had never even heard of. Tonight's movie is one I HAVE heard of, however. It's got your typical King tropes: a small town, high school kids, an ancient evil. Nothing surprising there. What they do with them however...well...I'll just let you see it. Tonight's film is 1992's SLEEPWALKERS, starring Mädchen Amick (from Twin Peaks) and no one else you've heard of. Description

Charles Brady and his mother, Mary, are the last of a dying breed whose needs are not of this world. They are Sleepwalkers - able to stay alive only by feeding on the life-force of the innocent, but destined to roam the earth, avoiding discovery while searching for their next victim. That search takes them to the sleepy little town of Travis, Indiana, where beautiful teenager Tanya Robertson is about to become an unwilling pawn in their nightmarish fight for survival.
