Superman Iv: The Quest For Peace (1987)
Announcement
So Supergirl had a cousin from Krypton named Kal-El. Apparently he was put in a rocket as a baby and shot across the galaxy, crash landing on Earth, where we saw him grow up from Smallville into Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice. Somewhere in the middle Golan and Globus of Cannon Films had the opportunity to make a Superman movie-- now, Richard Donner's Superman was pretty universally loved. Cannon managed to buy the rights to the franchise and what we got is the last Superman movie Christopher Reeve did. Originally planned to be directed by Wes Craven, who was fired because Christopher Reeve didn't like him. Reeve wanted Ron Howard, but settled instead for the co-creator of Iron Eagle, Sydney J Furie. Streaming on HBOMax and rentable elsewhere, tonight we will see Superman IV: The Quest For Peace! 6:30! Be there!
