After Conan the Barbarian came out in 1982 there were a ton of low-budget clones made, starring oiled up muscly dudes with loincloths and broadswords. This ran out of steam pretty much by 1987, which is when Cannon Films decided to get in on the action. Doubling down with TWO oiled up muscly dudes in loinclothes, THE BARBARIANS stars twins Peter and David Paul as the titular barbarians, who get involved in some sword and sorcery bullshit that is apparently equal parts beautiful cinematography and terrible writing and acting. That sounds just about perfect to me! Best of all, it's streaming for free on Prime, so you can save your pennies for whatever refreshments or libations you require for such splendid viewing. Description
Orphaned brothers Kutchek and Gore are adopted by a tribe led by Canary the owner of a powerful jewel. The evil Kadar wants both Canary and the jewel. Attacking the tribe he kidnaps Canary but the stone eludes him. The brothers are taken to be trained as gladiators and years later have grown to be VERY big. They escape and set off on a quest to find the jewel and rescue Canary.
